#worldaidsday2024In honor of World AIDS Day 2024, the Arnhold Institute for Global Health at Mount Sinai in collaboration with partners from AMPATH Kenya, will host a webinar focusing on HIV and Mental Health on December 2, 2024, at 9:00 AM EST.
The theme of this year’s World AIDS Day is Collective Action: Sustain and Accelerate HIV Progress. Mental health is a key priority in supporting people living with HIV - especially youth. Moderated by Rachel Vreeman, MD, MS, Chair of the Department of Global Health and Health System Design at the Ichan School of Medicine, this panel will engage adolescent mental health experts from Mount Sinai's AMPATH Kenya partnership to discuss the challenges youth in places like Kenya face in accessing mental health care and how we can support collective action to promote better mental health for youth living with HIV.
Panelists will include Dr. Eunice Temet, consultant psychiatrist at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital, co-chair of the AMPATH Mental Health Working Group and Head of the Department of Psychiatry, as well as Dr. Brittany McCoy, a pediatrician, child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist, T32 Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Psychiatry, and Instructor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Global Health and Health System Design at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
