Shirley Lindenbaum, PhD, has investigated the epidemic of kuru in Papua New Guinea, cholera in Bangladesh, and HIV-AIDS in New York. She has a degree in English Language and Literature from Melbourne University, and an Anthropology degree from the University of Sydney. She is currently Professor Emerita at The Graduate Center, City University of New York.
