I'm writing to invite you to participate in the next phase of the Health at Home (HaH) research study, a community-based initiative designed to bring cancer screening services directly to NYCHA communities and improve access to early detection.
Health at Home is a subproject funded by the American Cancer Society under the Tisch Cancer Center's Cancer Health Research Center (CHERC) community-based integrated cancer screening initiative focused on improving access for NYCHA residents.
We are seeking input from healthcare professionals who can offer practical insight into how Health at Home can be refined for real-world, community-based implementation. In particular, we are interested in understanding how this initiative can be seamlessly integrated into existing clinical and operational workflows across care teams.
We are especially hoping to hear from:
Patient navigators
Physicians (including residents)
Nurses
Schedulers and other frontline staff involved in care coordination or patient flow
Your perspectives are critical to ensuring that Health at Home is designed in a way that supports clinical teams, minimizes burden, and aligns with existing systems while expanding access for patients.
Participation includes:
A 90-minute small group discussion (virtual) on Thursday, 3/12/26 at 5:30 pm.
This discussion will include a brief overview of the Health at Home program and open-ended discussion focused on workflow considerations, barriers, and facilitators.
A $75 gift card as a thank-you for your time.
Eligible participants are healthcare professionals employed at Mount Sinai or the Institute for Family Health, age 18 or older, who speak English or Spanish and are willing to be audio-recorded. Additional details are included in the attached recruitment flyer.
If you are interested—or know colleagues who may be well positioned to contribute—please feel free to share this invitation or reach out directly with questions. For questions or to enroll please contact us at marina.serranofernandez@mountsinai.org
Thank you for considering participation and for the important work you do every day to improve patient care and access.
Dr. Jamilia Sly.
