Title: Next Generation Cohorts for the Study of Women's Health Across the Lifespan
Speaker: Shruthi Mahalingaiah, MD, MS - Assistant Professor of Environmental, Reproductive, and Women's Health at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Attending Physician in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Department of Ob/Gyn, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School
Bio: Shruthi attended Harvard Medical School and completed her residency in the OB/GYN Combined Program at Brigham and Women's/Massachusetts General Hospital, as well as a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology at Brigham and Women's Hospital. She has a long standing appreciation of the benefits of a clean, balanced, and resilient environment on promoting health. Her lab group at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health focuses on identifying environmental exposures and modifiable risk factors in the pathogenesis of polycystic ovary syndrome.
Abstract: The primary goal of this lecture is to distinguish the basic features of cohort studies. Dr. Mahalingaiah will highlight merging data streams, the considerations for industry-academic research partnerships for data sharing and data access, the novelty of menstrual blood metabolomics in a cohort study for environmental health exposure assessments.
