Abstract
Personalized neuroscience is emerging as a vital neurotechnology motivated by diverse needs, from monitoring healthy and pathological brain aging to inform intervention, to recognizing and optimizing unique human capability in an AI-driven world. A key component—Personalized Brain Mapping—is being developed and brought to market by EyeThree, Inc., built atop 30 years of worldwide human neuroscience based on fMRI. This technology has elucidated the biobehavioral architecture of the human mind, which in combination with advances in reliable individual-level measurement spearheaded by Dr. Kundu over the past 20 years, has transformative potential for individual self-understanding and helping society adjust to an era of dramatic change. In this talk we will discuss the measurement strategies underlying Personalized Brain Mapping, principally the Brain Factors framework, neuroplasticity and neural load, and their relation to diverse biobehavioral correlates of brain function and human performance. Based on N=1 imaging strategies, we will demonstrate EyeThree's E3Profile app as an end-to-end workflow where individuals can transform short brain scans into meaningful guidance for self-optimization, as well as future healthcare applications.
Bio
Dr. Prantik Kundu is a neuroscientist, biophysicist, and serial innovator who has pioneered advances in MRI technology for brain imaging. His efforts in functional MRI (fMRI) have achieved 10-fold sensitivity increases to enable discovery science in healthy brain aging, neuropsychiatric disorders, autism, and therapeutics development. Dr. Kundu also played a pivotal role in developing low-field portable MRI, creating deep learning image reconstruction to enable bedside imaging for neurological care in stroke and expanding worldwide access where brain imaging was previously inaccessible. Currently, he serves as Associate Professor and Chief of the Neuroimaging Neurotechnologies Laboratory at the Institute of Brain Health at Wayne State University. As co-Founder and CEO of EyeThree Inc., he is developing Personalized Brain Mapping tools that give individuals direct access to their own neural metrics—such as neuroplasticity and neral load—making brain activity transparent, comprehensible, and actionable.
