This workshop is designed for educators and staff who want to explore how ChatGPT can be used—responsibly and effectively—to foster critical thinking in their courses. Participants will learn strategies for setting clear expectations on when and how ChatGPT can and cannot be used in assignments in alignment with course objectives and academic integrity policies.

In this session, we will cover:

  • How to design assignments that use ChatGPT to strengthen student analysis and reasoning.
  • Strategies for balancing AI assistance with student-driven learning.
  • Establishing ground rules for ChatGPT’s use in coursework, including ethical considerations, institutional policies, and approaches for maintaining academic integrity.
