Join us for an inspiring session with Dr. Elena Fuentes-Afflick, Chief Scientific Officer at the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC).

At the AAMC, Dr. Fuentes-Afflick provides leadership and vision for addressing research and science policy and other critical issues facing academic medicine, medical schools, teaching health systems, and teaching hospitals as well as leading programs that support medical research and the training of physician-scientists and researchers in academic medicine.

Previously she was a Professor of Pediatrics and Vice Dean at the UCSF School of Medicine; she is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Her scholarly work has focused on Latino health, acculturation, immigrant health, health disparities, faculty misconduct, and diversity in academic medicine
