At the next Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine grand rounds, on Friday 09-May-2025, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., Konstantinos Margetis, MD, PhD, will present a lecture titled “Spine Degenerative Disease in the Working Population”.

Konstantinos Margetis, MD, PhD, is Director of Complex Spine Surgery for the Department of Neurosurgery at The Mount Sinai Hospital and Director of Spine at Mount Sinai Downtown-Union Square. He is also an Associate Professor of Neurosurgery, Rehabilitation and Human Performance, and Orthopedics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Margetis obtained his medical degree at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Medical School in Greece. At the University of Athens, also in Greece, he earned his PhD and completed his Neurosurgery residency. He also holds a Master Certificate in Health Care Leadership from Cornell University. He complete dual postgraduate fellowships in Complex Spine Surgery from The Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, and in Pediatric Neurosurgery from Weill Cornell Medical College. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), and serves as the Director at Large for the New York chapter of the ACS.  He was elected the 2025 Health Policy Scholar for the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. He has published over 135 peer reviewed articles.
