DESCRIPTION:Corina Lesseur\, MD\, PhD\, is Assistant Professor in the Depar
tment of Environmental Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount S
inai. Dr. Lesseur's research is focused on characterizing the molecular l
andscape of the human placenta and how it is affected by environmental exp
osures and pregnancy complications. Her work aims to better understand how
the prenatal environment captured in the placenta shapes health outcomes
 for both mothers and children.\n\nChelsea DeBolt\, MD\, MSCR\, is a board-
 certified obstetrician-gynecologist and a maternal-fetal medicine speciali
st at The Mount Sinai Hospital and an Assistant Professor in the Departmen
t of Obstetrics\, Gynecology and Reproductive Science at the Icahn School
of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. DeBolt’s practice focuses on high-risk p
regnancies\, with special interest in prenatal diagnosis. Her research is
focused on improving women’s health across the lifespan through understa
nding the biological drivers of optimal and adverse pregnancy health\, inc
luding preeclampsia\, preterm birth\, fetal growth restriction\, and still
birth.\n\nDescription: In this webinar\, Drs. Lesseur and DeBolt will disc
uss emerging research on chemical exposures and placental health\, highlig
hting how the placenta acts as a critical interface between the mother and
the developing fetus. They will explore how exposure to environmental che
micals may influence the placenta\, fetal growth\, and long-term health\,
and why the placenta is a key—yet often overlooked—target in environme
ntal health research. \n\nModerator: Kirstyn Bonetti\, Advisory Board Memb
er\, Mount Sinai Institute for Exposomic Research\n\nDuration: 25 minute t
alk + 20 minutes Q&A\n\nThis community webinar is part of the Mount Sinai
Institute for Exposomic Research Environment and Health Lunchtime Chat Ser
ies. Scientists at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai are advanci
ng research that reveals how environmental exposures—from air pollution
and chemicals to social and lifestyle factors—shape health across the li
fespan. Through this webinar series\, we translate discovery into action\,
connecting groundbreaking science to real-world insights that empower fam
ilies and communities to make informed choices and support long-term healt
h.\n\nLearn more and register for the series
