https://icahn.mssm.edu/research/institute-health-care-delivery/tci-biostatisticsTCI-BSRF (Biostatistics Shared Resource Facility) invites you to join its Cancer Biostatistics Walk-In Clinic held the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month starting December 5th, 2018 from 1:00pm-2:00 pm in room 6-122 of the Hess (CSM) Building, 6th Floor. During the walk-in clinic, a biostatistician will be available for quick statistical consultation on a first come, first served basis.
The purpose of this clinic is to answer general statistical questions* and to provide guidance for current and future cancer research projects. We are unable to fully design projects and run analyses during this time. Upon arrival to the HESS Building, attendees can proceed directly to the 6th floor, Room 122, to meet with a biostatistician.
*General statistical questions about current and future research projects including:
•What type of analysis should I conduct?
•How should I design my study?
•What model should I use?
For faculty members, fellows, residents, & students who need QUICK answers
•Clarification of methods utilized in published articles
•Advice regarding data collection
•Guidance on conducting analyses and assistance in interpreting results
•Discussion of manuscript reviews that require revision of statistical methods
•Initiation of discussion for future long-term research collaborations
How to benefit from the Cancer Biostatistics Clinic?
•Be prepared to give a short, informal overview of your project and explain questions you have
•Have a clear idea of what you would like to learn from the clinic
•Be familiar with existing literature
•Be familiar with the type of data you have or will collect, i.e. identify whether data types of variables are nominal, ordinal, continuous, categorical, time to event, etc.
