The Elephant in Every Room I Enter is an energetic solo performance about an actor (Gardiner Comfort) living with Tourette Syndrome.
The performance will be followed by a conversation between Gardiner and his personal physician, Dr. Barbara Coffey—world-renowned specialist in Tics and Tourette's.

Gardiner Comfort
Gardiner Comfort is an actor, writer, and teacher born and raised in New York City. He was diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome when he was 7 years old. He serves on the board of the NYC Chapter of the Tourette Association of America, has given numerous Ted Talks about his disorder and is something of a spokesperson for the TS community. His solo show, THE ELEPHANT IN EVERY ROOM I ENTER, is about his time at the 2014 TAA National Conference and has been performed at theaters in New York and numerous Med Schools. He holds an MFA from the American Repertory Theater at Harvard University. www.gardinercomfort.com
Barbara Coffey, MD, MS
Dr. Coffey is an internationally known specialist in Tics and Tourette’s Disorder and related problems. She is Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Chief of the Tics and Tourette’s Clinical and Research Program at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She also serves as a Research Psychiatrist at the Nathan S. Kline Institute of Psychiatric Research in Orangeburg, New York. Prior to her move to the School of Medicine, Dr. Coffey was Associate Professor in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the NYU School of Medicine, and Director of the Tics and Tourette’s Clinical and Research Program at the NYU Child Study Center.
