Join us for an extraordinary event that brings a Mount Sinai story to life. My Brain: After the Rupture follows the remarkable recovery of Clemency Burton-Hill, a broadcaster, writer, and musician who suffered a catastrophic brain hemorrhage and was saved by Christopher P. Kellner, MD, and the cerebrovascular team at Mount Sinai West.

Engage with this deeply moving film that explores identity, recovery, and the transformative power of the arts in the aftermath of trauma. The screening will be followed by a conversation with Clemency Burton-Hill, Dr. Kellner, and film director Ursula Macfarlane, whose collaboration exemplifies the intersection of medical innovation, resilience, and human connection.

About the film
After experiencing a life-threatening brain hemorrhage that left her in a 17-day coma, Clemency Burton-Hill began an arduous journey to rebuild her life, learning to speak again, returning to her career, finishing her book, and picking up her violin to play alongside her son. My Brain: After the Rupture documents this extraordinary recovery through intimate recordings from her earliest days of rehabilitation.

A story rooted in Mount Sinai West
Dr. Christopher P. Kellner, Associate Professor of Neurosurgery and Director of the Cerebrovascular Center and Intracerebral Hemorrhage Program at the Mount Sinai Health System, leads a team pioneering minimally invasive treatments for brain aneurysms, vascular malformations, and intracerebral hemorrhage. Clemency’s story is not only one of personal resilience, but also a living testament to the excellence and compassion that define Mount Sinai’s cerebrovascular care.
